Houdijk is a pleasant employer with a focus on collegiality and fruitful cooperation. Development opportunities are encouraged enthusiastically at Houdijk, which for me is a huge advantage. My first job at Houdijk was that of Project Manager. After two years, the management suggested I might be interested in a role in the Sales Team. A challenging shift in which technical consultancy plays a major role. As Project Manager, you mainly have contact with colleagues within the organisation, while as Sales Engineer, you are more focused on external customer relations. As I am now faced with both technical and commercial demands, I see this as a great challenge which gives me considerable pleasure. Due to the company’s international operations, I now work abroad more often than before.
I regularly visit customers in South America and present our latest technological developments there. I also discuss potential projects with them.
Based on the package of requirements, System Engineering then develops a technical solution that I present and offer to the customer. The final goal is to bring in a new project for Houdijk. These solutions are always customer-specific so no two projects are alike. This makes the work very varied and challenging.
I would describe the working atmosphere at Houdijk as relaxed, despite the fact that we always work efficiently. Besides working hard, fortunately many activities are also organised outside work, such as the Houdijk Games and various department outings.
Every day, millions of products pass through our feeding and sorting systems on their way from the oven to the packaging division. This is done with the greatest possible efficiency and care. Houdijk has earned a unique international position in this segment. Our mission and our ambition is to be: First in Biscuit Feeding – Worldwide.
